The Hemp Building Association of New Zealand was set up in 2019, to promote and support hemp construction in Aotearoa.
We have a website at www.hba.nz which is intended to help kiwis find the answers to most of the basic questions about building with hemp. But specifically this information is with reference to hemp construction in New Zealand. There is a lot of helpful information on the internet about hemp building – lots of video’s, etc – but we wanted to launch a group dedicated to the progress and process of hemp building in NZ.
We also have a Facebook group (Hemp Building Association of New Zealand) which anyone is welcome to join.
We attend events nationwide to promote the benefits of building with, and living in, hempcrete homes. We update our Facebook group with this news frequently.
We also talk directly to anyone considering building with hemp in order to support them with relevant contacts / new info, etc.
We will soon be planning hempcrete building workshops for the North and South Islands. We are also just launching a monthly newsletter which people can join via our website or Facebook group.
